ALTER syntax question and usernames with hyphens

[Madison Kelly <linux@xxxxxxxxxxx>]

Hi all,

  What is the proper syntax/escape character when using 'ALTER ... 
OWNER TO user-name'? I've tried single quotes, backslashes, backticks 
and various others without luck. Is it at all possible?
