Wrappers aren't great, but they're a necessity if you want to be able to run multiple versions of postgres simultaneously in a reasonably transparent way. At least now the package management system can let you install a new version, upgrade an old cluster to a new version and when the upgrade is complete, uninstall the old one. > Anyway, I guess wrappers are a must have like 3D desktops these days.
