Joshua,
Well, something's wrong:
[rshepard@salmo ~]$ psql -h localhost -U postgres aesi
Welcome to psql 8.1.4, the PostgreSQL interactive terminal.
Type: \copyright for distribution terms
\h for help with SQL commands
\? for help with psql commands
\g or terminate with semicolon to execute query
\q to quit
aesi=# \q
[rshepard@salmo ~]$ psql aesi
psql: could not connect to server: Connection refused
Is the server running locally and accepting
connections on Unix domain socket "/tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432"?
I used to be able to connect to an existing database just by typing it's
name after the command.
