Only MONO/WinForms is a way to go in any serious application.
Mono needs to show a lot more than beagle and f-spot to be even considered interesting, let alone a platform to base industrial strength applications on. As long as that doesn't radically change for the better (possibly never, but then again maybe as soon as a year or two), .net will still be a golden cage, and "multiplatform .net" an oxymoron. That's if you don't mind all the ethical mumbo-jumbo (easier to dismiss it when you call it a name like that) of dealing with a company like MS and securing plentiful licence sales for them through your product.
