Re: 8.1.3's /etc/init.d/postgresql fails, logging "standard

Nevermind, the problem was resolved when I discovered a typo in the postgresql.conf line of listen_address. The postgres message in /var/log/messages turned out to be more useful than the one in the log file named by the start command.

I don't have strace installed, unfortunately, and getting approvals to get it installed would be hard.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.
