My sysadmin has changed the values for shmall to 256MB (268435456) and shmmax to 1GB (1073741824) and I wonder if these values seem ok to you. We are working on a linux system (2.4 kernel) and have 2 GB RAM at our disposal. I have this large database running (15 million records).
