Success. You can now start the database server using:

    pg_ctlcluster 12 main start

I did not actually install as I don't use PostGIS, so I would not know how to verify a clean install.


This:

deb https://apt-archive.postgresql.org/pub/repos/apt focal-pgdg-archive main

comes from here:

https://www.df7cb.de/blog/2020/apt-archive.postgresql.org.html

The community packagers for deb packages have set up an archive repo for older versions.
