That makes "downgrade" feature very, very limited, if useful at all.Which means that you can make use of some new feature, but definitely not all.
Sufficient to allow you to run the upgrade, find that there's a catastrophic bug in the new version that causes your live system to fall over but which
didn't appear on your test system, and then revert to a working version?I'd say that's a fairly useful feature, limited or not.
