Hi Amit,
My postgresql.conf file in the standby server looks like this:
wal_level = hot_standby
hot_standby = on
max_standby_streaming_delay = 15min
In the master server, it looks like this:
listen_addresses = '*'
wal_level = hot_standby
max_wal_senders = 10
max_connections=100
checkpoint_segments = 8
wal_keep_segments = 8
archive_mode = on
archive_command = 'cp %p /var/lib/postgresql/archive/%f'
In my logs, I see this line just before the server enters the standby mode:
LOG: database system was interrupted; last known up at 2015-04-09 19:22:50 GMT
LOG: entering standby mode

host replication rep 104.131.66.183/32 md5
Is rep a valid postgres user in the cluster?
Did you remember to do:
SELECT pg_reload_conf();
After making the changes to pg_hba.conf?

I reserve the right to fantasize. Whether or not you
wish to share my fantasy is entirely up to you.
