For instance, if you say DROP FUNCTION foo('*'); all versions with a single argument are dropped; DROP FUNCTION foo('*', '*'); drops all versions with two arguments. If you do DROP FUNCTION foo('*+'); then all versions are dropped regardless of number of arguments.
