That's cause it's still there. Did you remember to build/install
contrib/xml2? The xpath functions you're listing are all core, I think.

For closure, and for any poor slob in the same predicament:
I carefully put my big-boy pants back on and
	cd postgres-9.1.2/contrib/xml2
	make install
	
	create extension xml2;
