Just did a fully clean purge of 8.4 and install of 9.0. Not sure where to report packaging errors but upon running /etc/init.d/postgresql-9.0 it advised to run "service postgresql initdb". This script needs to be updated to advise users to run "service postgresql-9.0 initdb".
