Installing postgres

I installed postgres 7.2  on freedbsd 5.1 using the /usr/post dist,  
after not finding any relations in the template1 database I deleted 
/usr/local/pgsql/data and reran initdb,  now I get the error:

/usr/local/etc/rc.d/010.pgsql.sh start
ldconfig: mkstemp(/var/run/ld-elf.so.hints.dLieHP): Permission denied


Can anyone tell me why?
