I just checked online and I think the MSA500 G2 has it's own SCSI RAID controllers, so you are actually just using the 5i as a SCSI attach, which it's not good at (no reordering/command queueing, etc). So, just using a simple SCSI adapter to connect to the MSA might be a big win. - Luke
