Rotamap is a growing employee-owned company, providing best-in-class online rostering services to acute hospitals in the NHS, and working with health boards in New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. The company is over 15 years old, presently has about 35 employees, and we are highly profitable. See www.rotamap.net for more details.

Our team of 35 works with a range of clinical departments and their supporting teams, mostly within public hospitals, and is committed to helping them communicate and collaborate effectively to deliver their service and improve the work-life balance of doctors.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Postgresql is at the heart of our services and we make extensive use of PL/pgSQL functions. We are looking for someone with experience of using Postgres who finds the challenges of complex queries rewarding, relishes a Linux-based environment and is confident working on the command line via SSH when necessary.

We work in small cross-functional, non-hierarchical teams to improve our systems and processes, often collaborating closely with clients. This structure ensures all employees have both the opportunity and responsibility to design improvements and to understand where best to focus our efforts next. You and your team will have control over your own workflow, and deadlines. This means you’ll need to plan and prioritise workload effectively, and efficiently communicate to the rest of the team how projects are progressing. We’re looking for someone who is excited about shaping the future direction of the business.

Rotamap is seeking a database developer with a salary level of up to £52.5k depending on experience. Employees become eligible for employee-ownership related bonuses following the first year of service and EMI share scheme participation after two years.

Rotamap also provides its employees with a wide range of other benefits, including flexible working with family friendly arrangements, the option to work remotely with regular visits to the office, paid sick leave and volunteering, 6 monthly salary reviews, central London office space or contribution to co-working space and paid overnight hotel stays to work with colleagues.

APPLY

This role is open to those interested in working part time as well as full time, and people looking for a flexible work environment. You don’t need to be based in London, although ideally you’d be able to come into the office in Fitzrovia every now and then (and more frequently, perhaps a couple of days a week during the probation period). Ideally you’d be in a timezone that’s +3/-3 hours of GMT and able to join us between the hours of 10am and 3pm. Applications from parents returning to work and/or others only able to work part-time are welcomed. A strong command of the English language is essential.

If you’re interested, or you know someone who might be, please submit CV with covering letter to jobs@xxxxxxxxxxx
