I received the contact info for the group from a member who mentioned that I might have the ability to post a contract position that Randstad Technologies is looking to fill with one of our clients in either Addison, TX; Chicago, IL; Washington DC; Denver, CO for 6 months + (normally go 18 months). Summary:
- As a Database Administrator within Global Information Security, you will be following established written procedures, guidelines and techniques to develop and implement databases. You will also be working on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors, exercising discernment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, and understand the systems development process and have a solid grasp of business processes.
Required Skills:
- Highly proficient with Database Technologies - specifically PostgresSQL.
- Production support SME with the ability to lead the technical triage for problems relating to database and applications within the live production environment, contributing to stability and availability, and maintaining a high degree of customer service.
- Operations experience, including, but not limited to Database Administration, SQL/Data analysis, log analysis, application, database and operating system troubleshooting, patch management oversight, Quality Analysis.
- Project management experience - Working with Application Managers and Project/Development teams, driving projects and enhancements, to ensure minimal impact to the production environments.
- Be flexible, responsive, enthusiastic, have ability to work alone and as part of a team and to foster positive relationships.
Top 3 Qualifications:
- 1. Strong PostgreSQL DBA expertise
- 2. Strong Production operations support experience, demonstrating strong analytical skills/problem solving/conceptual thinking.
- 3. Demonstration of a professional, team oriented approach coupled with strong self-motivation and personal initiative.
