About the role:
We are now looking for experienced Open-Source Software Developers - PostgreSQL to design, develop, and manage Aiven database infrastructure, turning open source technologies into frustration-free cloud services. This position is open to candidates in the Helsinki or Berlin area or remote in Europe.Your responsibilities:
- Participate in the development of the PostgreSQL Open Source project by writing code, doing code review for others patches and other related development tasks
- Advocate PostgreSQL usage through blog posts and other activities
- Help out with investigations with PostgreSQL usage on our platform from performance issue pinpointing to problem debugging
- Participate in further development of our Aiven for PostgreSQL service
What you bring:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Database Developer working with PostgreSQL
- Experience in participating in the development of the PostgreSQL project
- Expert knowledge in database performance monitoring, query optimization, index management, and fine-tuning
- Strong development skills in C
- Other programming languages like Python, Go, Java, Scala are a strong asset
- Experience in microservices architectures, API-based and event-driven architecture
