Our client, a global IT manufacturer, is embarking on a major database deployment project, and, as a result, is looking for a PostgreSQL DBA to work on this exciting and challenging undertaking.
This 6+ month contract opportunity will be based in their offices on the North Shore of Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for: * Building, configuring, and maintaining PostgreSQL database deployments * Providing customers with clear, detailed, and high value solutions * Designing deployment, backup and replication scenarios * Proposing and implementing high availability solutions * Migrating databases from other RDBMS to PostgreSQL The successful candidate will have the following: * PostgreSQL experience * Demonstrated experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) * Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * The candidate should be accountable, self-starter and genuinely interested in all aspects of production DBA work * Experience with backup and replication solutions, such as Streaming Replication (advantageous) * Experience with tools such as PgBouncer, Nagios etc. (advantageous) * Experience in other RDBMS or NoSQL/BigData productions (advantageous) If you are interested in this great career opportunity with an organisation renowned for their excellent work culture, then please apply online at
