Duties & Responsibilities include:

Collaborate with internal stakeholders – Requirement Analysts, Solution Architects & Development team to translate business needs into data strategy and data architecture solutions and designs.

Develop innovative database solutions that increase scalability and performance. Recommend improvements to existing database designs to structure the data for more efficient data management and access.

Assist with end-to-end database migration planning & execution working closely with the technical teams.
-
Creating, deploying, and executing database scripts and stored procedures as well as in creating, maintaining and optimizing application database table, triggers, materialized views etc.

Perform/Assist with modeling to assess and enhance database capacity and performance.
-
Create and maintain a central repository of all data architecture artifacts including data dictionaries, database administration procedures, scripts, and security controls.

Design, implement, and test database Backup and recovery strategy.
-
Maintain operational procedures including database upgrades; conduct regular performance and integrity tests; and produce test reports.

Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem analysis, and resolution.

Database health (e.g. monitoring, proactive and reactive responses).
-
Environment transition planning (development, test, stage, production).
-
Maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience
with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.

Minimum of seven years of experience as a Database Administrator;

Demonstrated experience with developing logical and physical data models data/information exchange models, standards, or tools;

Solid experience with Oracle Database Administration.

Experience in evaluating data architecture & data models, recommending change, and communicating recommendations to the program team.

Good verbal and written communications skills.
Desired Skills:
-
Experience in Open Source Databases such as PostgreSQL.
-
Experience in other enterprise RDBMS besides Oracle such as DB2.
-
Hands on experience performing end-to-end data migration activities from one Database to other.
-
Exposure on enterprise search engines such as Elasticsearch and Solr.
Demonstrated performance leading IT services delivery and achieving service level agreements
