Description
ipsy is an innovative fast-growing beauty company headquartered in San Mateo, CA. We are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL Database Architect to join our growing engineering team. You would be responsible for database performance tuning and the overall health of our databases. You would work with other engineers to build good data infrastructure, monitor and ensure proper database usage, and help build ETL pipelines. The ideal candidate is hands-on and thrives in a fluid, high-performance, entrepreneurial environment with a passion for learning and innovating.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Expert level knowledge of SQL and query optimization
- Expert level knowledge of PostgreSQL
- Expert level knowledge of schema design, including star schemas
- Experience with ETL pipelines
- Experience with data warehousing
- Bachelors in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Good knowledge of Java and JDBC
- Experience with hibernate or grails/GORM
- Experience with Amazon RDS
- Experience with Amazon Redshift
- Experience with big data and analytics tools
