We are a motivated group of developers writing a multi-platform state of the art Point of Sale system focused on Small Businesses who want to compete in the world of the mega-conglomerate. We are looking for a mid-level PostgreSQL DBA. This position will report to the Senior Database Architect. Applications supported will include both traditional OLTP type applications, including Point Of Sale and Financing, as well as OLAP processing for data analytics. A successful applicant will have:

  • 3 or more years experience in deploying and administering PostgreSQL databases
  • proficiency in writing the PostgreSQL dialect of SQL and tuning complex queries
  • knowledge of PostgreSQL features, including data types and functions, procedural languages, transaction control, common extensions, backups and replication
  • an understanding of the principles of database design, and the tradeoffs that can be involved
  • ability to work with a team in  hands-on development of database solutions, including the ability to understand and implement business and architectural requirements
  • strong Linux skills

Useful skills of a successful applicant could include:

  • proficiency in Python
  • experience in data analytics
  • experience with Amazon Web Services
