Data / ETL Engineer (PostgreSQL)

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Data Engineering, the Data Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Machinima’s ETL pipeline and data warehouse platform.  The Data Engineer will be responsible for creation, maintenance, and support of and new ETL pipelines and other data warehouse / business intelligence (DWBI) duties as required.

Job Responsibilities:
* Work with the DWBI staff to convert our existing Pentaho-based ETL pipeline to Python.
* Document the current pipeline as well as the new pipeline.
* Act as support and maintenance for on-going ETL pipeline support issues in Pentaho / Python.
* Extend the Python ETL pipeline going forward as Machinima integrates with new data sources (API & file based) and distribution platforms.
* Work closely with the Business Intelligence group to satisfy internal data warehouse needs.
* Help develop strategies to migrate current and future data warehouse and BI infrastructure to AWS. 

Job Qualifications:
* ETL experience (3+ years)
* Python (3-5 years)
* SQL (PostgreSQL or MySQL) (2+ years)
* Big Data (Redshift/Google BigTable/PySpark/Hadoop, etc) (1+ years)
* Linux Server experience.
* AWS/EC2/S3 experience a plus.
* Pentaho, Tableau, and Microstrategy experience a plus.
* Background in other software development languages (Java, Scala, Ruby) a plus.
* Experience w/ gaming and entertainment business models a plus.
