They are looking for a PostgreSQL expert to Hack Postgres for real-time analytics over terabytes of mobile app data, streaming in everyday. They are looking for someone to build extensions to support new data types and run and optimise SQL queries in shardered environments on billions of rows. Responsibilities: · Database administration · Optimize & update databases for performance and functionality · Run and optimize high performant real time analytical queries to improve our clients’ campaign performance Desired background: · 3+ years of experience administrating PostgreSQL databases · Deep knowledge about and experience with Postgres extensions · Expert in C · Experience with database administration and configuration · Excellent research and problem solving skills: the ability to analyze, compare & evaluate when and why issues arise · Contributions to Postgres are a huge plus · Fluency in English Preferable Skills required: · PostgreSQL DBA Skills · Writing PostgreSQL Extensions · C/C++ · Performance tuning · PostgreSQL Connection Pooling / Sharding concepts · PostgreSQL Foreign Data Wrapper.
