Our environment consists of Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, CouchDB, Redis, and memcached.

What You’ll Do In This Role:
- Be responsible for one of the largest OLTP-oriented Postgres systems in the world
- Work hands-on with our engineering team to build and enhance schema as well as develop new database APIs
- Ensure consistent database performance and reliability
- Develop and maintain monitoring and reporting systems
- Perform data retention, data mining, and maintenance tasks
- Fulfill legal-related data requests
Minimum Qualifications:
- A degree from an accredited university OR equivalent working experience
- Database administration experience with at least one SQL and one NoSQL system
- Experience working with UNIX/Linux
- Experience working with OLTP systems
- Ability to write advanced SQL queries
- Experience with operations-related database tasks, such as monitoring, performance tuning, backup, and recovery
- Experience with high-availability and zero-downtime database management
- An ability to program in one or more of the following languages: C, PHP, Python, Ruby, Perl, Java
- Knowledge of BASH scripting
What We'd Like To See:
- A strong understanding of clustering methodologies and optimizations
- A background in programming, math, or computer science
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or DB2
- Experience with Redis
- Experience with MongoDB or CouchDB
- Experience developing stored procedures
