Our database team supports several postgres databases up to 550 GB each over 50 database servers in three data centers. An ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative scrum team, and has a cooperative nature. As a senior member of this team, you will work closely with QA, engineering, and project management to help us improve automation, stability, and scalability. Responsibilities: -Setup and maintenance of postgres clusters utilizing streaming replication -Cross-datacenter disaster recovery and backup architecture -Performance monitoring and optimization -Query optimization and troubleshooting -Close collaboration with engineering on schema changes -Participation in on-call rotations Requirements: -8+ years of experience administering PostgreSQL databases -Experience with automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, or CFEngine -Experience with PgBouncer and HAProxy -Thorough understanding of normal forms, and when to break them -Solid scripting skills in one or more of: Bash, Perl, Python or Go -Experience with Zabbix, Nagios, Cacti, Graphite or similar monitoring tools -Ability to drive a project from inception to completion -Enthusiasm for solving challenging problems -Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience -Excellent communication skills Bonus Points For: -Slony -Postgres 9.x upgrade experience -Experience with Hadoop, HBase, Cassandra, etc. -Participation in the postgres community: meetups, cons, etc. -- Sent via pgsql-jobs mailing list (pgsql-jobs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx) To make changes to your subscription: http://www.postgresql.org/mailpref/pgsql-jobs
