Currently, we are looking to hire a Database Architect to join us on a permanent basis in Burbank.
The Deluxe Digital Cinema software team develops applications that enable Deluxe's rapidly growing, world-wide digital cinema business. These applications play a key role in supporting our major cinema studio clients and have a profound impact
on our business growth.
The position: Database Architect
We need an architect to help us design a next-generation globally distributed database to support our fast-growing digital cinema business. The Software Team is looking for someone who is talented, creative and motivated. The work is challenging,
creative, fast paced and intellectually stimulating. Strong analytical skills, entrepreneurial spirit, ability to work in a rapidly changing environment and a strong commitment to teamwork are a best fit for this position.
Responsibilities:
Build and design a global cross-system data strategy.
Design and implement top-tier high performance databases - defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.
Determine database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming; reviewing objectives with stakeholders; evaluating current systems
Maintain database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; advising on maintenance; answering development
user questions.
Determine best data access practices for development.
Provide database support by coding utilities, responding to development questions, and resolving problems.
Requirements:
BS or MS in EE, Computer Science or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of database architecture experience.
Experience in database programming; PostgreSQL required, MSSQL optional.
Experience with data warehouse architecture and data replication.
Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
Knowledge of secure architectures and programming.
Knowledge of TCP/IP and network programming.
Experience developing/designing medium to large software systems.
Excellent written and communication skills
