Position Overview
As a member of the software engineering and production systems management team, you will help develop new database-driven applications and maintain and tune production database systems. This role
will involve a mixture of design and implementation.
You’ll be part of the team that has oversight of VBS critical production systems. At VBS you'll have the opportunity to shape your career path based solely on your talent and work ethic.
The successful candidate must have
BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
Core Responsibilities
Ø
Maintain and improve database performance and replication
Ø
Work with developers on new features and system changes
Ø
Implement automated testing and scripts to ensure safe upgrades and system changes
Ø
Evaluate and implement monitoring solutions to ensure smooth and efficient operations 24/7
Ø
Work with internal business users to integrate database with operational systems and implement a variety of business data analysis solutions

4+ years recent experience as DBA for PostgreSQL

5+ years SQL development and database tuning
Ø
Designing relational database schemas

Working with Slony or Postgres 9 replication
Ø
Building and monitoring databases on AWS or VMware
Ø
Administering NoSQL systems such as MongoDB
