Data/DBA Architect

 

If you want to be directly involved with influencing hundreds of millions of mobile users in how well they will be served globally, then we have an opportunity for you. We are currently looking for an outstanding and visionary big data architect to join our team and help design and build the next generation of our product and solution with dramatically increased functionality, performance, scalability, and flexibility. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys building high volume transaction systems, is customer-centric, and feels strongly not only about building good software, but also about running that software in the real world. This position will have end-to-end ownership of, and responsibility for, the systems that are built.

 
Role and Responsibility
 

·       Responsible for architecting, designing and developing solutions using databases, like Postgres, Oracle and Cassandra.

·       Provide thought leadership, strategy and lead innovation by exploring, investigating, recommending, benchmarking and implementing data centric technologies for the platform.

·       Develop data architectural strategies at the modeling, design and implementation stages to address product requirements.

·       Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses and model development.

·       Hands-on system design and development, as needed.

·       Provide subject matter expertise on Postgres, and Oracle.

 

Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent

·       8 to 12 years of work experience in development with Java/J2EE and Databases to build scalable solutions.

·       Must be hands on in development.

·       Must have experience in architecting, building and maintaining large scale systems with capabilities of high availability and high scalability (e.g. server side for mobile, e-commerce systems, etc.)

·       2+ years of hands-on experience with Postgres and Oracle

·       Must have a deep understanding of different SDLC methodologies, including Agile/Scrum

·       Must have strong estimating and planning skills.

·       Must have ability to effectively communicate across globally distributed cross-functional teams and roles.

·       Contributions to open source projects like Prostgres is a strong plus
