We (Where2GetIt) are looking for an individual who gets excited about
scalable solutions while maintaining 100% database uptime. He/she'll get
an opportunity to work with various hardware platforms and demonstrate
the ability to think on their feet to help grow the company. The job
will involve loading data from hundreds of sources, creating analytical
solutions, optimizing PL/pgSQL functions, and making interesting data
available on the web as well as mobile devices.
Minimum requirements:
Minimum 5 years experience of developing database solutions and
administering database infrastructure for mission critical applications.
Experience maintaining large databases (>2TB).
Experience in performance tuning and optimization of SQL and Postgresql
functions (PL/pgSQL)
Experience supporting redundant systems with 24X7 availability requirement.
Minimum 5 years developing scripts (bash, Perl) to automate routine
database related operations
Understanding of basic database fundamentals: transactions, indexing,
locking, caching
ETL experience is a plus
Analytics experience is a plus
You may have come from a system administration position and want to grow
your database skills into more development activities. Or you could be a
