We are retained to find a handful of talented Architects for an innovative arm of a high-profile company looking to take its database to the next level. As a key contributor you will be involved in the following:
- Work with the database system as a whole as well as some of its components in depth as well as understand how the database interacts with other software
- Participate in research and design to take the database to the next level
- Stay informed with related work commercially and academically
- Contribute significantly to important software architectural decisions, producing designs, presentations and prototypes to support your recommendations
- Review designs, algorithms and code
Requirements
- Strong systems development skills
- Expertise in one or two areas of database internals
- Expertise in other database areas and other enterprise system software such as queuing systems, application servers, networking etc.
- History of contributing to database technology through open source, academe or otherwise
- Enjoys being part of a team working on state-of-the-art technology and communicates effectively at all levels
- NOTE: Can be in most locations in the US or internationally as part of a senior, virtual team
