Software Developer / DBA ? PostgreSQL: Kansas City, MO Metro Our client is seeking a Software Developer / DBA who wants to make the most out of their skill and ability in a fast-paced, technology driven atmosphere. Ideal experience crosses boundaries of development, system design, database design, performance optimization, and overall care and feeding of world class systems/databases. Key objectives would consist of the management of VLDB (very large database) in a regulated archive and compliance environment, ongoing research and implementation of processes to handle continually expanding data flow, and creation of programs/reporting to automate pulling data in an MPP environment. Responsibilities: * Provide database development and support to Software Engineers individual and team projects * Perform database administration, schema changes, maintenance, performance tuning, profiling, backup/recovery and replication for PostgreSQL DB's * Build database tools, script and automate everything possible (Python, Perl, PHP, etc.) * Create test and production databases * Work with software engineers and other departments to ensure the overall application design is optimal * Performance data modeling, schema design and query reviews * Interface with network, hardware and system operations teams to resolve problems with application/database systems.
