Edgelink is currently looking for a solid PostgreSQL Database Developer/Architect for a short-term contract opportunity (2-3 months) for our client in NW Portland. Our client is in need of some database / 3-tier architecture help for a short-term eval / design project. They are looking for someone to design a metadata-management system and perhaps be involved in putting together the first prototype. After the design is complete, our client would then take over. The engine would be PostgreSQL, has to be highly robust in terms of both data integrity and caching, and the transaction management would be relatively light in 'web' terms (a system capable of easily and very quickly handling up to a 1000 database/cache requests every few seconds).

Skills Required:
-5+ years experience with PostgreSQL Databases.
-Object Oriented Database Design Experience
-RDBMS Experience
-Familiar with SOAP, XML
-Experience working in an AGILE environment (SCRUM)
-Experience with High Transactions
-Comfortable working in a team environment

Skills preferred:
-Python development experience a bonus
-RDF Protocol Experience
-Source Code Control System Experience
