Hi,

You give no information about the kind of installer and platform you have used.

The PostgreSQL community provides the source code and some packages for Linux distributions, but what you show doen't look like any of these. They usually don't install to /opt

Which installer (where did you get it from) did you use on which platform?

Which user was doing the installation (root?).

The installer obviously wanted to change the group owner of a directory to the user daemon. In order to succeed, this has to be carried out by root and a user named daemon must exist.

That's what I can tell without further information.

PostgreSQl 10 Fails with above error. I even tried to create user daemon still it fails
