PostgreSql 9.3 High Availability Best Practices

Hi list,

Just reviewing that there  are many options to configure a High Availabity environment using postgres 9.3,

If we were to use  Statement-Based Replication Middleware (PgPool) what could I expect on terms of service confidence based on your experience, taking into account that we are implementing our  first postgresql HA environment, what mistakes should I take into account so we will not fail or be prepared for such situations and how we could manage.
