If it's "not production," (and I understand all the nuances of "sort of production") why not just 9.3 both of them and use built-in replication? What are you trying to accomplish that you feel Slony will do better?

i'm plannig to use Slony to do some replication between 2 Ubuntu-Systems
running postgresql 9.1 and 9.3.

reading this page http://slony.info/ i'm a little bit confused which
slony-version would be the best to start with.

2.2.2 , 2.1.4 or 2.0.8?

It's a production system but not for commercial (critical) use. Just an
OpenStreetmap database of ~600GB
