Try adding this to your script after the echo PATH: $PATH line, just for
debugging purposes:

/bin/echo "|----------|"
if [ -f ~/.pgpass ] ; then
	/bin/cat ~/.pgpass
else
	/bin/echo ".pgpass missing"
fi
/bin/echo "|----------|"
