Hi Team,

I am using Solaris-9 and pgsql-7.4.2. I am going to upgrade my DB to the latest and stable release.

  1. May I know what is the stable pgsql release and latest?
  2. I heard the version 8.2.5 is stable, but when I searched for the same on site, it has only 8.2.6. May I know which is stable.
  3. Pls provide the link for the same.
  4. Are there any changes required while installing or configuration of pgsql when the DB has to be run on the SUN clusters.(Not DB clustering.) I had 2 sun clusters running on the DB server with common database. When I stop the DB on one cluster it is the DB is shut down, but due to clustering, the DB is not getting stopped complete. Can any one please suggest how to stop the DB server running on the clusters and upgrade the latest pgsql.

Pls advice to guide me on this.

Regards,

G. V. Suresh Gupta
