How to install postgreSQL 8.1.4 on RHEL -ES 4

Hi ,

 I m newbee to PostgreSQL. I have downloaded the postgresql-8.1.4.tar.bz2 from the following link http://www.postgresql.org/ftp/source/v8.1.4/ .

Please let me know,

1) how to install and start using the postgreSQL

2) Where can I get administration and User guide of PostgreSQL
