Thanks for your answer . I changed the kernel parameter . After I executed the initdb and the 'data' directory was created , so I changed the postgresql.conf parameters and executed the 'postmaster'. All was OK . Finally I restored the kernel parameters like originally and all works now fine !! Thank you for all. 2005/9/16, Tom Lane <tgl@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>: > vespadict <vespadict@xxxxxxxxx> writes: > > The Solaris machine that I'm using is not only for my project so I can´t > > modify any kernel parameter in /etc/system principally because after > > need a reboot ... so , where can I modify the shared_buffers and > > max_connection parameters ? > > initdb already tried values that were much smaller than reasonable. > If you can't increase SHMMAX beyond 1 megabyte, use another machine. > > regards, tom lane > ---------------------------(end of broadcast)--------------------------- TIP 3: Have you checked our extensive FAQ? http://www.postgresql.org/docs/faq
