Hi,
I had PostgreSQL 8.0.0-beta5 on my Windows Xp home
laptop. It installed and ran fine.
After downloading v 8.0.2. I tried to run the
upgrade.bat script, but it choked and told me to run the main msi file. I then
assumed the upgrade wouldn't work and uninstalled
the beta just in case.
After running the postgresql-8.0.msi file the
installation crashes. The attached logfile indicates a problem with
GetAvailableLocales or MSIHANDLE. My computer has AVG Antivirus and ZA Firewall,
but both are shutdown prior to installation.
I read the Win-FAQ and searched the mailinglists.
The FAQ says it might be necessary to uninstall my antivirus/firewall
software, but I won't do that.
Would appreciate hints to get around this,
thanks.
erik
