-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I get the following when I attempt to log into a RHEL4 server with AD credentials: > Feb 21 12:57:00 mpvmrhel4es pam_winbind[8782]: user 'CORPQA\join' granted access > Feb 21 12:57:00 mpvmrhel4es pam_winbind[8782]: user 'CORPQA\join' granted access > Feb 21 12:57:00 mpvmrhel4es sshd[8782]: Accepted password for CORPQA\\join from ::ffff:10.100.1.110 port 34001 ssh2 > Feb 21 12:57:00 mpvmrhel4es PAM-mkhomedir[8788]: unable to create directory /etc/skel/ > Feb 21 12:57:00 mpvmrhel4es sshd(pam_unix)[8788]: session opened for user CORPQA\join by (uid=0) > Feb 21 12:57:00 mpvmrhel4es sshd[8788]: fatal: PAM: pam_open_session(): Permission denied I have the right entry in the system-auth file: > session required pam_mkhomedir.so skel=/etc/skel/ umask=0022 I'm a little confused as to why it is trying to create /etc/skel/, and then why the session open is failing? Is pam_mkhomedir just fundamentally broken on RHEL4? I'm running pam-0.77-66.13, which seems to be the latest and greates according to up2date. The same pam config line works just fine on SuSE 9.3 and 10. Any insight would be appreciated. - -- Marcin Krzysztof Porwit mporwit@xxxxxxxxxxxx #include <stddisclaimer.h> -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFD+4Ff4OZU6cX5VBERAjyfAKCYg/5WAQU3igavnt+0qkow2nwtxACfa7+B UVbcxgapQvH7/9D7096f8lE= =1Yb8 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Pam-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/pam-list
