I want to install a new version of PAM on a system I have and am wondering if I have to rebuild the world to account for it. The PAM library is compiled into *many* programs on the system (like cron, login, ssh, etc..) and they point to PAM libraries. Is it possible to drop in the new PAM (libraries and all) and everything will work (because the interface hasn't changed) or am I in a world of hurt here? BTW, the version of PAM currently running on the system is 0.71 ... :-( Thanks!
