I want to write a simple c program to interface with the pam_winbind module and return true or false depending on authentication success/fail. Is there any example code I can look at to see how to interface with PAM and do a full authentication via a pam module such as pam_winbind? I've tried the check_user example program described in the "pam_appl.txt" part of the PAM docs, but it's not working. Any references, pointers appreciated.
