This is regarding an issue I am facing while using pam_chauthtok(). I am having the conf file as
#%PAM-1.0 auth required pam_unix.so account required pam_unix.so use_first_pass password required pam_pwdb.so session required pam_pwdb.so
This works fine when pam_chauthtok is called.
When I modify the conf file as
#%PAM-1.0 auth required pam_unix.so account required pam_unix.so use_first_pass password required pam_unix.so use_first_pass session required pam_unix.so use_first_pass
pam_chauthtok fails with an error "Authentication information cannot be recovered", the /var/log/messages gives a message
"tet_conf(pam_unix)[16306]: password - (old) token not obtained"
I tried it out on Redhat, kernel 2.4.2-2 and kernel 2.4.18-14.
Kindly let me know whether I am missing anything...
Regards Rohit
