Have you tried to configure the pam services (under the
/etc/pam.d) as well?
If you haven't, then try to use an already defined service in the
pam_start("login",...);
function.

I am a newbie to PAM and I want to verify the user password.
What I want to do is authenticate the current user.
I tried using pam_start() and pam_authenticate() API's but it
always returns me "Not authenticated".
What am I doing wrong ?
