It looks like pam_mount has got in a wrong direction. When I needed to run
it on FreeBSD a couple of weeks ago (no working port existed), I had
to port an older version, too - the new one is much less portable. And as
you say now, there are problems even on Linux :-/

[my port to FreeBSD works but as nobody has asked/ported the module for a
long time, I assume there is no interest and do not release. I prefer
Linux anyway :-]
