Are there any plans to incorporate the feature of using negative limits in pam_cracklib on Red Hat Linux? This feature has been added to SourceForge 8 months ago. By using negative limits you can define the minimum number of digits, upper case letters, etc. that must be met for a new password. For example you can say that a password must have a length of at least 8 characters and x number of digits etc.. This is currently not possible with pam_cracklib that comes with Red Hat. pam_cracklib on Red Hat Linux only uses positive numbers which defines credits that you can get for meeting the minimum password length.
