MAC ctx duplication not in life cycle

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Dear all,

I was looking at https://docs.openssl.org/master/man7/life_cycle-mac/#state-transition-diagram and it seems that duplication isn't treated in the lifecycle. In particular we'd like to be able to duplicate a EVP_MAC_CTX to avoid carrying out key dependent but not data dependent initialization multiple times, and it isn't clear if we can count on that working consistently. Will it? And should the diagram/text address duplication.

Sincerely,
Watson Ladd
