Count me in - completely agree with Viktor. I’ve created my share of GitHub issues, and in the past contributed a few patches - guess, it means my participation was somewhat useful for the project.
I practically never participate in somebody else’s GitHub issues. But I did answer a few questions here (and asked a lot more ;).
If the (idiotic) decision to close this list does get implemented, I’m probably switch to another library altogether (thank God für Botan and WolfSSL, among others).
Thanks for listening. Regards, Uri
P.S. Contrary to what Stephen said: if you’re a member of this list and do not want it to go away - please don’t worry about the spam factor and send a “+1” reply back to the list. Otherwise, “they” just won’t get it, it seems.

I, for one, am not going to do that. If someone wants to ask questionson Github, they're welcome to get answers from those who are immersed inand productive in Github as a communication medium. It isn't a mediumthat works for me.- if you won't go to GitHub regularly and simply want to see things in
email, then you should be watching GitHub issues as you are missing
the majority of the interactions
See above. I am not looking to participate in all the Github issues, adifferent community of volunteers will help the users who want to asktheir questions there. Meanwhile, I'm willing to learn from andcontribute to the discussion on this list.We are seeking input on this potential change if you are currently
actively contributing on openssl-users mailing list discussion and *you*
*believe such a change would substantially reduce your participation in*
*the project*.
Yes, such a change would reduce my participation in answering userquestions or learning from answers given by others. Ideally, usersasking for general help (as opposed to reporting bugs, ...) would beencouraged to post here, but it seems that's not how those who hangout on Github see it.There are people pointing out they prefer email - but the majority of those
people who have responded so far are also watching GitHub issues and are
also responding to GitHub issues.
FWIW, I am not among them. Some Github issues and pull requests arebrought to my attention, and then I may participate in *that* Githubissue or pull request, but otherwise, I can be found here and not onGithub, unless directly pinged on a specific issue or PR.-- Viktor.
