Best Practice of Creating TLS Client /Server in C?

Hello,

Could someone point me to some good reads or C coed examples for creating a TLS client/server with best practices?

After googling for some time, I am unable to find an recent example of how to create a TLS client/server  in C.  I even tried compiling and running the demo/client-arg.c/server-arg.c,  but the running generated some alerts and warnings.

I’m hoping to learn the best way possible to create embedded TLS client/server  with the stable OpenSSL-1_1_1, not too much looping/polling, due to limited resources in embedded devices.
